Expedition 74 Crew Boarding Soyuz, Saying Farewell to Station Soon
NASA’s live coverage of crew farewells and Soyuz MS-28 spacecraft hatch closing aboard the International Space Station now is streaming across multiple platforms. Watch online at https://www.nasa.gov/live.
NASA astronaut Chris Williams and Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Kud‑Sverchkov and Sergei Mikaev will close the hatch between the Soyuz and the space station at approximately 11:30 p.m. EDT.
Williams and his crewmates are wrapping up 241 days in space, where they will have logged 3,856 orbits and more than 102 million miles traveled. The Soyuz MS‑28 spacecraft launched and docked with the station on Nov. 27, 2025. This mission marks the first spaceflight for Williams and Mikaev and the second for Kud‑Sverchkov.
NASA will continue live coverage of the crew’s return on Sunday, July 26 (all times Eastern and subject to change based on real‑time operations):
- 2:30 a.m. – Undocking coverage begins
- 3:03 a.m. – Undocking from the space station’s Rassvet module
- 5:15 a.m. – Coverage of deorbit and landing begins
- 5:31 a.m. – Deorbit burn
- 6:25 a.m. – Landing on the Kazakh steppe, southeast of Dzhezkazgan
