NASA will host a media teleconference at 3 p.m. EDT Wednesday, Aug. 8, to announce new public-private partnerships that will develop commercial space capabilities and benefit future NASA exploration missions.

NASA has selected PAE-SGT Partners LLC (PSP) of Arlington, Virginia, to provide institutional support services at the agency’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida and NASA facilities at its neighboring Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

NASA introduced to the world on Friday the first U.S. astronauts who will fly on American-made, commercial spacecraft to and from the International Space Station – an endeavor that will return astronaut launches to U.S. soil for the first time since the space shuttle’s retirement in 2011.

The Challenger Center and the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center will participate in live calls with a NASA astronaut currently living and working aboard the International Space Station as part of NASA’s Year of Education on Station (YES) next week.

NASA’s Flight Opportunities Program has selected four companies to integrate and fly technology payloads on commercial suborbital reusable platforms that carry payloads near the boundary of space.
