Following a successful <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/news-release\/nasas-webb-telescope-reaches-major-milestone-as-mirror-unfolds\/#:~:text=NASA's%20James%20Webb%20Space%20Telescope,to%20prepare%20for%20science%20operations.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">deployment<\/a> in space, and the precise alignment of the telescope\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.nasa.gov\/webb\/2022\/04\/28\/nasas-webb-in-full-focus-ready-for-instrument-commissioning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mirrors<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.nasa.gov\/webb\/2022\/07\/11\/nasas-webb-telescope-is-now-fully-ready-for-science\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">instruments<\/a>, Webb began science operations nearly six months after liftoff. As the various parts and components of Webb began to be assembled and tested throughout the country, Gunn and his camera followed along, capturing the historic development of NASA\u2019s premier space telescope. Johnson Space Center\u2019s Chamber A was an especially tough subject to shoot once Webb was inside. It required remote lights that had to be adjusted perfectly before I boarded a boom lift to make the photograph from seven stories up.
