<\/a>The three\u00a0Expedition 63<\/a>\u00a0crew members will spend another day inside the Russian segment of the\u00a0International Space Station<\/a>. Mission controllers are continuing their leak detection work today to collect more data.<\/p>\n All of the\u00a0orbiting lab\u2019s\u00a0hatches\u00a0will remain\u00a0closed\u00a0until Tuesday morning to give ground specialists additional time to collect data and\u00a0monitor pressure readings in each module.\u00a0The rate is still well within segment specifications and presents no danger to the crew or the space station.<\/p>\n The station\u2019s atmosphere is maintained at pressure comfortable for the crew members, and a tiny bit of that air leaks over time, requiring routine repressurization from nitrogen tanks delivered on cargo resupply missions. In September 2019, NASA and its international partners first saw indications of a slight increase above the standard cabin air leak rate. Because of routine station operations like spacewalks and spacecraft arrivals and departures, it took time to gather enough data to characterize those measurements. That rate has slightly increased, so the teams are working a plan to isolate, identify and potentially repair the source.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, the station trio is staying comfortable in the\u00a0Zvezda service module<\/a>\u00a0with access to the\u00a0Poisk mini-research module<\/a>,\u00a0\u00a0the\u00a0Progress 76<\/a>\u00a0cargo craft and\u00a0their\u202fSoyuz MS-16<\/a>\u202fcrew ship. Commander\u00a0Chris Cassidy<\/a>\u00a0of NASA and Roscosmos Flight Engineers\u00a0Anatoly Ivanishin<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Ivan Vagner<\/a>\u00a0mainly focused on Earth photography Monday.
