In this June 21, 2026, photo, NASA\u2019s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope<\/a> arrives at the agency\u2019s Kennedy Space Center in Florida aboard NASA\u2019s Pegasus barge<\/a>. After offloading and transportation to the spaceport\u2019s Payload Hazardous Servicing Facility, Roman will undergo processing ahead of launch, targeted no earlier than Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026.<\/p>\n

Named for NASA\u2019s first chief astronomer<\/a> and \u201cmother of the Hubble Space Telescope,\u201d Roman will offer a field of view over 100 times larger than Hubble\u2019s to study up to a billion galaxies, directly image exoplanets and planet\u2011forming disks, and address fundamental questions about dark energy, exoplanets, and infrared astrophysics.<\/p>\n
