Another SRAP (Slip Risk Assessment Process) issue due to wheels being <a href=\"https:\/\/urldefense.us\/v3\/__https:\/\/mars.nasa.gov\/raw_images\/1450103?site=msl__;!!PvBDto6Hs4WbVuu7!PMJ8uAy_yOx8uLtqcvc02vmX_nGTg4I0lH58Py9o17fAZ1TbaDc82vpcvZoU2--5QAGfysGm5Lo1tgckAg%24\" rel=\"noopener\">perched<\/a> on these massive layered sulfate rocks. With our winter power constraints as tight as they are, though, keeping the arm stowed freed up more time to check some lines off our rover\u2019s weekend list. To do: SAM activity to exercise Oven 2 (check!), Navcam 360-degree \u201cphase function\u201d sky movie to monitor scattering of Martian clouds (check!), APXS atmospheric measurements of argon (check!), ChemCam passive sky measurements of oxygen (check!), and a drive of about 50 meters (about 164 feet) to the southwest (check!). Curiosity gets busy on the weekends so us PULs can do some lounging.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On the Mastcam team, we\u2019ve been pretty busy in the layered sulfate unit. The rocks are <a href=\"https:\/\/mars.nasa.gov\/raw_images\/1447529?site=msl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rippled<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/mars.nasa.gov\/raw_images\/1447521?site=msl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">layered<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/mars.nasa.gov\/raw_images\/1449717?site=msl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fractured<\/a>, and surrounded by <a href=\"https:\/\/mars.nasa.gov\/raw_images\/1447879?site=msl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sandy troughs<\/a>. Where did it all come from? What current and past processes are at play in this area? This weekend we\u2019re collecting 70 images to help figure that out. ChemCam is helping by collecting chemistry measurements of the lowest block in this <a href=\"https:\/\/mars.nasa.gov\/raw_images\/1450201?site=msl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Navcam image<\/a>, with two targets close by aptly named \u201cSolana Beach\u201d and \u201cDel Mar.\u201d To help conserve power, we\u2019ve been trying to parallelize our activities as much as possible. Recently this means Mastcam has been taking images while ChemCam undergoes \u201cTEC Cooling\u201d to get as cold as possible before using their laser.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re all hoping the arm can
