The four launched on March 3 aboard a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft from NASA\u2019s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a look at some scientific milestones accomplished during their mission:<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong><strong><strong>Revealing resistant microorganisms<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>NASA astronaut Jeanette Epps extracts DNA for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/mission\/station\/research-explorer\/investigation\/?#id=9026\">Genomic Enumeration of Antibiotic Resistance in Space<\/a> experiment, which surveys the station for antibiotic-resistant organisms and sequences their DNA to examine adaptations to space. This investigation uses human brain organoids created with stem cells from patients to study neuroinflammation, a common feature of neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson\u2019s disease.
